MEMORY
Where data is stored either temporary or
permanent
Primary
memory:
It is the
main memory that can store data
There are
various types of primary memory
> ROM: Read
only memory
Used to load the oprating system
into memory
> RAM: Random
acess memory
It is used to store data temporarily
for the purpose of execution of command specified by
User
> Cache
memory: it is used to store the path of data i.e. frequently used by user.
> Register:
these are the temporary memory that are used by processors to process the input
& store the result temprorly
Secondary memory:
only examples (figure is self explainatory) Hardisk drive parts:
Ø Plate
Ø Read/write head
Ø Tracks
Ø Sector
Ø Seek time
Ø Latency time
Ø Spindle motor
Seek time:
it is the time that is taken by read /write head to search particluar task
Latency time:
it ttis the time taken by read/write head to findout particular sector
